It gets to you

You know
It gets to you
And
It hurts
The reason
Behind
I don’t know
And she doesn’t
Care
She just takes
Without even
Goodbye
They call her a
Lady
But me
No
I just carry the pain

But leaves the tear running

I can't describe pain using ink
It's like using a pencil to show
The heartache in your soul
For me it does no good
But leaves the tear running
Down the cheek
Whether you wish to tell
Or maybe not
They get the idea regardless
And they talk
Telling what they think
No connection to your truth

No concern, no care and no conception

And does not say it all

I've felt the pain for so many years
How epilepsy alters your life
Alters is a kind way of putting it
And does not say it all
Epilepsy fucks you up and takes the job
It fucks you up and stops you driving
It fucks you up 'cause you're socially knackered
It fucks you up 'cause you now can't do this
And you now can't do that
And you now can't do the fuckin' next thing
And there's only one reason
It's 'cause you're fucked
Emotionally, socially, work-wise
Remember and say goodbye to to the people
That claim they care

Epileptic lifestyle

It's a pain in your heart when you have no coices
With epilepsy it's your brain that makes the decisions
And you don't get to put a word in
It just comes over you and you either pass out or blank out
Whatever you do, it takes you out

Sometimes for a short time
Sometimes for a long time
Whatever, you don't get to put a word in
And when you pass out or blank out it's not your choice
Regardless, it takes you out

Sometimes you see it
And sometimes you don't
No matter, you don't get to put a word in
And when it strikes, it's not your bad choice
It chooses when to take you out

And when you're down on the ground
And they point and snigger
And they might, perhaps, do what they can
To make sure that you don't die
On their patch

Getting the gas up

I'm getting the gas up, man
Feeling like there's somewhere to go, man
Not sure what direction it is, man
Might be north, east, south or west, man
Maybe not west, that's out to sea, man
But anywhere else could be it, you know
If I stay here it's the boredom, man
Looking out the window to sea, man
Sometimes a wave passing by, man
But if I go north, what you think, man
Is it better than heading east, man
Or I could head off south into town, you know
Is there anything there for me now, man
Or am I really too gone to take it all on, man
Too past my best and needing a rest, man
So what would I do if I got there, man
What at all could I do there now, man
Maybe past my best in my heart, you know
Or maybe too scared to face it, man
It's a big thing to take on in your mind, man
And a real heart-breaker as well, man
As I accept that I'm way past my best, man
And really hurting it through, man
The worst - the future's no good, you know

Janice Joplin

I listen to this an awful lot, it's only a short song but I really enjoy it. I hope you do too.
